终于考完了!可以动笔了!下面将我这一个多月来对共享软件开拓海外市场的体验奉献给大家,希望能起到抛砖的作用(能不能引玉大家说了算!)

看了论坛上前辈们成功的消息纷纷传来,我心里也痒痒的,总想亲身体验一下.从2月25日起,我正式走上了共享软件的道路.一个多月来,我也有了一点点经验和体会,想和大家分享一下.

我就以时间为序吧.

2月25日:
花了一天时间编好了准备拿来做海外推广和营销实验的的软件HTMLEncryptor(网页加密工具)的功能部分.

2月26日~2月27日:
花了两个晚上完成了软件的注册验证部分和程序文档(Readme.txt,faq.htm,file_id.diz:这些是ZDNet的最低要求).

2月28日:
在RegSoft上注册了一个账号,得到了Product ID和Purchase Link,写入软件.
至此,软件已全部完工,1.0版的发布日期就定为这天.

3月1日:
把我过去做好的主页套进来,成了Home of HTMLEncryptor.
至此,主页部分也搞定了.

3月2日:
把软件提交到ZDNet,Download.com和tucows.com(奶牛站).

3月3日以后:
我又将软件提交给ShareIt,BMTMicro,SWREG,Qwerks等注册代理商(它们各有优势,多提交几个软件的曝光率可以提高).还有就是联系他们设置Key Generator(这也挺麻烦,直到现在RegSoft还没帮我把Keg Generator设置好).

3月16日:
收到RegSoft的NewsLetter,注意到其中的Channel Marketing.于是按RegSoft提供的连接把软件提交到以下网站:

<http://www.rocketdownload.com/frames/authfram.htm> 未成功
<http://www.iconshareware.com/icon/software/default.asp> 下载量5538(5536是我用机器人点出来的)
<http://topdownloads.net/submissions/index.php> 每月十几个
<http://download32.com/submit/default.htm> 提交成功,但该站没有下载统计
<http://filedudes.cablelan.net/main/submit.html> 未成功
结论: 无用功!!!

3月22日:
收到第一封用户来信.其它三封分别在4月2日,4月5日,4月13日.
最值得一提的是4月13日的.
用户的来信如下:

I need to encrypt about 50 files per night.

There are two pieces of advice we could give you:

1.Wait for the new version of HTMLEncryptor. HTMLEncryptor 1.3 will be published next weekend or later.
In the version 1.3, it will include two new features, one of which is "Run from Command-Line Model".

2.Register HTMLEncryptor. It cost only 15 dollars. In REGISTERED version, you can encrypt as many files
as you like and it's much more convenient to add files in Windows interface than "encrypt HTML files
from within a dos batch file".

3月24日:
意外发现我的软件在Download.com和ZDNet中出现了(当时高兴极了).
Download.com显示的添加日期是2001-3-6,
ZDNet显示的是2001-3-23
(奶牛站至今还未提交成功,有人教教我该怎么做吗?)

3月31日:
收到第一份注册.(我的两份注册都发生在星期六)

4月1日:(可能是在这个时间吧,我也记不清了)
给我的网站安装上了统计程序AXS,这是个功能非常强大的统计系统,下载步骤如下:

4. Click on "Logging Accesses and Statistics"

You'll be presented with no less than 30 CGI script packages which will help you gather valuable information about your visitors, and believe it or not, most of them are free! We looked at all of them, so we'll save you the time and suggest the two we like best to help you get started.

One of the first scripts we tried, and still one of our favorites, is AXS by Fluid Dynamics. It's one of the first scripts listed and you can't miss it. You can download it for free, and with a minimal amount of effort you could be tracking your entire web site within the next few hours.

The direct URL to the AXS site is http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs Rather than going into detail about it here, we'll let you discover it for yourself. It's a great system and the only thing we don't like about it is that it creates it's own log files, and they get huge if your site is busy.

推出HTMLEncryptor 1.1,再次提交到ZDNet和Download.com,还提交到了TopSoft.com(没有下载统计)和SoftwareNow.com(未成功,仍在审查)

4月7日:
网站访问量突破100,我删除了log文件,重新统计.

4月14日:
收到第二份注册.

把软件提交到softlandindia.com(一个印度的软件站).
