make buildkernel doesn't work in FBSD 6

Like I said, if the only directory you have under /usr/src is sys, then you only have the kernel sources and *can't* use buildworld/kernel. You *have* to use the old config method.
The *only* time you can use buildworld/kernel is if you have the *full* source tree installed, which means you have a good dozen or so directories under /usr/src, and the /usr/src directory tree is several hundred MB in size.
